~Stamps~

Our wonderful rubbery friends that yield to our paper

Personally, i think stamps highly rival stickers. I love stamps because you can use them over and over and over. It's a piece of art that you can give to anyone as easily as peeling off a sticker. However, i still love those gold stars from so long ago!! Plus, another great thing about stamps, in my opinion, is that if you're a big anime-buyer (off ebay or wherever) you get to easily decorate an envelope that says, "I got an anime stamp! how many ppl have got those??(i know you're wondering where i got it!!)" I dunno. i kinda really like it, and ppl get a big kik outta it. =D enjoy our rubbery friends, and stamp your heart out!!

P.S. this is a mix of fanart stamps and home-grown originals. ^_- won't find any nasty preservatives here! hover over the pictures for the name of the pic/character.

P.P.S. if you're wondering how the notion of making stamps got in my head, i made one in like 7th grade and i had an urge to make more so i could decorate stuff. ( as i earlier expressed my love of stamps). Luckily, i got a great art store up the street that hooked me up. Jerry's Artarama....gHod, they're fantastic. then again, this is coming from a person who suddenly got the notion of drawing all over her pants, like it was a good idea. -_-;; stupid fashion industry copying me...curse them with bad product slogans!!

this is a stamp i did of jeanne from kamikaze kaito jeanne. i guess i really liked the picture - - i took it from manga #6. ^_^;; the hair was a pain, though. arina tanemura is an awesome artist, too, so i didn't want to get the stamp wrong, or simplify her work. boy, this stamp took me a while.
this is a picture i drew then made into a stamp of sakura-chan from cardcaptor. she's just too adorable of a character to overlook, and it's clamp, so - - the trim of her dress was supposed to be clear, and i hope i show that...v_v;; i wanted to do her with her staff =D
this is a stamp i did of urd and it was in the back of a sailor moon manga...i think it was a note by kosuke fujishima, but i couldn't read his handwriting. -_-;; every once in a while in the back of the sailor moon mangas, she has 'guest notes' and things like that from her animation directors, apprentices, other manga-ka, etc.. and they usually (always) contain a picture. i saw urd and loved it, and i know naoko-sama knows kosuke-sama, so - -.
i love xelloss, so this was just fun in a basket for me. kinda scary to see the enlarged version, because it's a rather small stamp. -_-;; but it's the funnest stamp to put on people's hands, honestly. "Sore wa Himitsu Desu!" I saw a stamp of xellossu at an anime store and wanted it so bad (it was sold out) and now i think i triumphed because i got a stamp of him anyways~MWAHAHAHA! i always win!!
hee hee! i still think this one is too cute!! this is tiara from shamanic princess. she's rarely shown really cute and smiling in the pictures i have, so i decided to make a lil' squat face. i like doing the stamps in squat - - i think it's better that way. it's a stamp, it's not supposed to be taken seriously! i really love her fluffy hair! atsuko ishida is a really great artist, so i'm happy to be able to have fun with one of her character designs. ^.^
again, this stamp's really small, so it's odd to see it so large. personally, i think Nurse Angel Ririka is a highly underrated series. i think it has a really great ending, and it enchants everyone i show it to. you just need to get past the beginning and swallow all the..er..unique monsters. -_-;; this is a stamp of ririka. hee hee...i'm a big collector when i can get my hands on something, so i snagged her angel cap one time and i wear it at hat day at school. fun stuff, fun stuff...
hahaha...there's quite a story behind this one. i was just going to do a very simple one of sailor moon from sailor moon r. then i decided to upgrade to super S. then i realized i was still doing the wrong wand, but i had already started the stamp! so! after much frustration, i decided to just draw the s wand, then say that this was the point where she got the holy grail and her outfit changed, but her wand didn't..did it? ah, well. i needed to change SO MUCH WHILE CARVING IT that it caused me SO much grief. i changed the skirt, the wand, the boots, the bow, the belt, the locket...yeesh. only a harcore fan would notice, but still. arrrgh...i planned out my stamps really well after that disaster!
hmm...i love neo queen. i love drawing hair, too, have you noticed? i really don't know what to say about this one....it was one of the first i did, and i just wanted to give her a non-cute, but kinda the soft calm look that usagi gets in the future. *shrug*
this is me dead on my art desk..you gotta love it. it was originally in a note i wrote to tamara, but i asked her if i could borrow it, and made it into a stamp. traditionally, i had written her a note every nite that i made a stamp to delight her in the morning during the summer. this picture came from a note that i made a lil' comic of...it has a cute pic of tsurera skydiving, limboing, walking chu-chu, etc.. i'm nutz at night. absolutely nutz. you have NO idea what i'll draw.
Hm~ just a pic i drew of me and i thought it was cute and i liked the hair, so i made it into a stamp! i put my hair into braids sometimes and then fold them back up behind my ears, and i get this kind of look out of it. it's really super-cute, and i get compliments of it. ah, well~
every year i go down to old navy and get a HUUUGE sweater to wear around the house. they're sooo comfy, and i sit by the fire with it and have hot chocolate and read. i've been wearing anna clogs for YEARS now...at least 4 years. they're super-comfy, and nice looking to boot. also, i twist my hair around a lot and stick a pencil in it. it holds pretty good, and i think it looks neat and saves me hair tie money.
My favorite stamp of all time. i was just drawing this and i decided to make it me with an envelope, with my ever-loving clogs sticking out of the bottom with a pair of khaki cords i had just gotten. i just died because it was soooo cute and i swear i held my breath while carving it! it's about an inch by an inch! it's just great!! *swoon*
This is the first commission stamp i've ever done! it's an original character, and i think he's really cute!! i was happy that i could still carve a stamp very well, and i realized i'll probably never lose that talent. the buyer was very happy! hahaha! she was very nice, and i'll always remember this lil' guy. ^_^
This is a fanart stamp commission i did for ebay. it's a korean singer named J. Yoon, i guess. ^_^;; it's
really hard to make squat characters look like real people v_v;;. i put in this special violin he has so you can distingush who he is, and make him more identifiable. i think he's just adorable!
This is a commission stamp of an asian girl, i guess. hey, i tried, ok!? i think it's pretty cute, anyways.
EEEEEEEEE!! TAMAHOME!!! this was another commission and i love love LOVE tamahome so i agreed to do it. plus the person asked for him in his 'evil' outfit, which, personally, i think is his most droolworthy outfit. too bad hotohori destroyed it when he fought tamahome. *sigh* and besides that, everyone knows taka just isn't tamahome. i couldn't remember if he'd gotten his hair cut off before or after when he turned evil, but the hair is just more trademark tamahome when it's longer. i love him.
Just yaten~ he's holding a rose, and stiking one of those infamous '3 lights' poses. it was a commission stamp that now has a good home. ^_^
